Binary Base (Pty) Ltd ("Binary Base", "we", "us", "our") is a South African company that builds professional websites, business email, and WhatsApp AI sales automation (our "Pulse" service) for small and medium businesses. This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA").
We act as the responsible party for personal information collected through this website and through enquiries made directly to Binary Base. When we operate a Pulse-powered WhatsApp number on behalf of a client, we act as an operator processing personal information on that client's behalf and under their instructions.
When you interact with a Binary Base or Pulse-powered WhatsApp number, we may collect: your WhatsApp phone number, WhatsApp display name, the content of your messages, the requirements or preferences you share, and timestamps of the interaction.
When you visit this website, we may collect standard analytics data (such as pages viewed and approximate region) and, if you arrive by clicking a Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertisement, an advertising click identifier (for example fbclid / ctwa_clid) used to measure advertising effectiveness.
We do not knowingly collect special personal information or the personal information of children. Please do not send us such information.
We process personal information to: respond to your enquiries; understand your requirements; qualify and follow up on sales leads; prepare quotes and book appointments; provide and support our services; comply with legal obligations; and measure and improve our advertising. We rely on your consent (which you give by initiating or continuing a WhatsApp conversation with us), on the necessity of processing to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and on our legitimate business interests in operating and growing our business.
Personal information is used only for the purposes described above. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for unrelated purposes, and we do not make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you without human involvement.
We share personal information only with service providers ("operators") who help us deliver our services, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions. These include:
We do not share your personal information with anyone for their own independent marketing.
Some of the operators above (in particular the messaging, advertising-measurement and AI-generation providers) process data on infrastructure located outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we do so in accordance with section 72 of POPIA — that is, the recipient is subject to laws, binding rules, or contractual terms that provide an adequate level of protection comparable to POPIA, or the transfer is necessary to perform a contract with you or in your interest. Where feasible, identifiers sent for advertising measurement are hashed before transfer.
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, and misuse, including access controls, encryption in transit, and restricted administrative access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you and the Information Regulator of a compromise where the law requires it.
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
You have the right to: be told what personal information we hold about you and to access it; ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date, or obtained unlawfully; object, on reasonable grounds, to the processing of your information; withdraw consent (this will not affect processing already carried out); and not have your information processed for direct marketing by unsolicited electronic communication without your consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact our Information Officer (section 9). We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
